A very rare find !!!
This was the 1st of the mighty WRX,
One of the 1st Version 1 Japanese Subaru Impreza 2.0ltr WRX to be produced / roll of the production line, the GC8 became an iconic vehicle in worldwide rallying, but also a serious hit as a purposeful road car
In 92 / 93 your choices within budget were limited of other such marks that could keep up , Sierra Cosworth or M3 was about it !!!!
This Extremely original & almost completely standard WRX bar a few typical bolt on parts & easily returned to 100% stock if preferred
I see K125KNO as a great fun easy project for another like minded Subaru enthusiast to put back to completely standard condition, use & enjoy + add value,
a perfectly useable modern classic & watch the values rise 👈
100% no previous repairs to the underside or does it need any , original factory colour coded under seal etc still present
Original paint apart from the bonnet & front grille 😳
2 previous owners
Genuine 118,973
Massive folder of previous mots , receipts & even the original bill of sale when imported in 2008 for £3995 🤣
Original Japanese service history, hand books / book pack & 2 keys are present
436 Subaru Red
Applied model code : GC8 A48D
Correct Matching numbers engine & gearbox
Been in dry storage & Unused for the past 5 years
Recently taken out of hibernation in sunny Essex,
Transported to us & lighty recommisioned inc
Fuel drained , levels checked , new battery & boom it fired up straight away as if never been asleep
Brakes stripped & serviced , 30 gentle miles now done but I’d advise a big service before any real use or fun, but wow brings back some memories for me ✅
Ready for the next owner to put there own stamp on it / further recommission
IMO best to put back to 100% stock original condition as this will ultimately make it even more Sort after & valuable over time
To do this it wants :
1. Standard exhaust system
2. Standard dump valve
3. Standard 15” wrx anthracite alloy wheels
4. Standard anthracite front grille
5. Few bits of light paintwork inc rear spoiler ( present & removed to clean underside of boot lid )
Both A post pillars where wind deflectors had been fitted
Very tiny tiny paint on both arches, but 100% solid
Door mirrors faded
6. Few small touch ups
7. N/s front fog lamp replaced with non clear unit
8. Gear knob / gear lever gaitor & plastic surround replaced
9. O/s front seat bolster repair or replace
10. Servicing / New Timing Belt kit & new MOT
A very worth while project, when was the last time you saw a GC8 cursing around, this is a true survivor & deserves some further love
Or simply use & enjoy, it’s up to you.
Remarkable really given its now nearly 30 years old !!!
Where do you find another as good !!!!
